Unsounding The Voice

20 instructional scores by Ingrid Plum
www.ingridplum.com

'Unsounding The Voice' is a series of instructional scores that form a counterpoint to the workshops Plum has taught since 2004 called “Sounding The Voice”. In contrast to the group workshops these scores are intended to facilitate a solo sound practice with a focus on not making sound for those who cannot sing due to injury, illness or circumstance, and for those who are curious to carve out time where they can work with sound without making sounds. This collection of scores has been commissioned by Joshua Legallienne for the exhibition series ‘Immateriality’.

Ingrid Plum uses her voice with extended technique, improvisation, field recordings and electronics, creating work that combines sound art, contemporary classical and folk music. Incorporating folk traditions and a student of Meredith Monk she is described by The Guardian as “gorgeously atmospheric vocal techniques woven around field recordings & electronics”.

Ingrid has performing with Colliding Lines at Reanimation in London on 06.02.20 and 08.03.18, and in Brighton on 15.07.18.
